To the west of downtown Nantes, the Misery quarry had so far been left fallow. By 2022, it is set to welcome an Extraordinary Garden where artworks, including the majestic Tree of Herons conceived by the founders of the famous Machines of the Isle and the belvedere of Tadashi Kawamata, will coexist with a lush, overflowing, and extravagant vegetation. How to give a rightful place to the Extraordinary Garden, while it hosts within it great pieces, including a unique and unparalleled tree?
Solution
The Extraordinary Garden aims to be a remarkable setting, it must show that it is a World. An enveloping, inclusive nature setting, a fantastic atmosphere inspired by the unknown lands revealed by Jules Verne and the exploration lands described by Audubon. An extraordinary World, a perfect meeting point of elements, as perfect as the micro-climate of the quarry that allows it to come to life.
